Good Bye 2012

Assalamualaikum wbh and good evening...

Well this is the last entry for the last day of the last month of this year, in shaa Allah. I just wanted to highlight what 2012 has been for me. Thus far it is one of the greatest year in my life.

I've registered for my PhD in February. I've also managed to score A+ for both compulsory subjects Research Methodology and Academic Writing. Alhamdulillah. As for now I'm in the phase of preparing for my colloquium, proposal defense and journal write-ups. So far I've also published my writings in a number of  international journals and a book chapter by IIUM this year.

May might me the best month of all. I've made it to get the good results in my exams, my first black belt in karate (so now I'm a shodan karateka) and yes I've reached Seoul for the first time in my life and in shaa Allah there would be subsequent trips to South Korea again soon. I think I owed few more posts detailing my Seoul trip. Looking forward to prepare them with picture in shaa Allah.

In August I'd attended a Korean class to learn Hangugo in Subang. Alhamdulillah I managed to obtain 95% for my first level exam. I've also met couples of new friends beyond my regular circle, which is very exciting for me. By now I can slowly read the writings, count and speak some simple sentences. I hope to further it to upper levels and master the language before my next trip. Hangugo (and other languages) is awesome when you can come to understand the words. Fighting!! Thanks to my fellow friends' suggestion I've watched The Thieves and Soar into the Sun at KLCC and Setia City Mall, respectively, after Aidah's office hour. We both went to those places by my car. I was so thrilled to reach KLCC by my car at night. We reached home at almost 2am on that day. I'm very thankful for the experience.

My sister was officially engaged to her current fiance in September after Raya Puasa and in shaa Allah they'll get married in next year.  I wish her all the best! My brother Cah was enlisted to PLKN in the end of the month. I couldn't join the family to send him to his camp in Padang Kacong, as I was in Changlun at that moment. In November my sister had her graduation in Nilai few days after Raya Haji, of which all of us attended, except Cah who had to attend PLKN at that time. We spent some times shopping for her hantaran too at Sogo and Jalan TAR. My parking fee was RM25.50. I parked my car at Sogo for one whole day, from about 10am to 8pm.

In November I'd watched Istanbul Aku Datang with Aidah at Bukit Raja. We enjoyed the show. It is a rarity  for me to watch movies in cinema, especially Malay movies. I watched it because I think it is a good story (it was!) and I wish to see Istanbul since I might be there someday. I'd also watched the last part of Twilight Saga on its first day in local cinemas at Bukit Tinggi. Aidah is a fan of the movie and I accompanied her to watch the last installment in the cinema. Regretted that I missed Harry Potter's.

In December I reached KL Sentral with my car for the first time. The driving was meant to reach Petaling Jaya LRT Station with Aidah and we ended up in the KL Sentral instead, after a few puzzling rounds of looking for the LRT station. On the same day I've been to IKEA Damansara, also for the first time in my life, with my aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents. Few days before I've also made it to Kenanga Wholesale City Mall with Aidah for her SuJu Super Showcase merchandise collection.

I've been back to Changlun by bus from Shah Alam after more than a month leaving my room and housemates. One of them has left the house for good and returned to her hometown as she took another better job offer a couple of weeks earlier. After roughly a week I've took another trip to my hometown and is enjoying the last days of the year with my family.

All in all, 2012 is an awesome year for me, full of great achievements and promises better dreams for incoming years in shaa Allah. Thank you Allah for such great times and chances You'd granted me. I pray for a better year in 2013 for all of us, Ameen.

Wassalam,
Me.
